This Los Angeles Italian restaurant had a very comfortable atmosphere that only added onto the overall excellent experience. I recommend ordering the Mushroom Risotto, as well as one of their many tasty pizzas. Besides the great food, and the amazing atmosphere, the waiters are very attentive, and polite. They really recommend all of the best dishes with their own experience in mind. The prices are very well put, and surprising low for the quality of the food. Lastly, for the last course I also recommend getting the Tiramasu, which was also quite delicious!
We live near Amalfi, and have been there twice. We’ve been to almost all of the top rated Italian restaurants in Los Angeles, and the food here is just as good as any of them, both in terms of taste, ingenuity and presentation.
It’s also more reasonably priced. The atmosphere is sort of rustic Italian with exposed beams, earth tones and a fireplace, and very pleasant and relaxing. Service was very good on both occasions. Considering other restaurants in the same area, this is a great alternative to Angelini Osteria, where the food is very good but you’re packed into the restaurant like a sardine.
Exposed wood beams and a fireplace make for a romantic setting at this lovely newcomer at the northern edge of the La Brea Restaurant Row, where the beautiful people flock for fabulous Italian fare including “perfect fritto misto” and amazing pastas washed down by a good selection of wines; the lovely patio, hospitable service, and great value are other reasons it’s always crowded.
